The special of the MIVINO Magazine of the month of June “In search of the lost grape”, dedicated to the viticultores and wineries that rescue with courage and defend with pride almost extinct varieties of the own grapes of each place, pleasantly surprises us with the selection of several elaborations of Viñátigo, a pioneer winery for almost three decades in the defense and recovery of the Canarian varieties in their wines.

The report highlights the project of Bodegas Viñátigo and our director Juan Jesús Méndez, as an example of how to achieve a sensational mosaic of native monovarietals that speak of the delicious flavor of our Canarian land. “Effort, conviction and faith in the fruit that the vineyard gives are the values with which these brave people can be described,” the authors of MIVINO point out.

In this special “In search of the lost grape”, several samples of elaborations are collected where the character of the least known grapes of our country is revealed, among which is our Viñátigo Gual 2017, Viñátigo Marmajuelo 2018 and our Viñátigo Negramoll 2017.
